Morikami #3

The bonsai section, closed today,

Moment of silence for tiny trees.

Still, we chat by the lake,

Moments of silence for mental ease.

Laughing tourists permeate the air

“Payment-package-plan-Verizon”

Listen, my silence is louder still,

Hope and trees on the horizon.

Wet socks and footprints

Mark the moment passing by.

Everything dries eventually,

Given the right space and time.

“Hello stranger”, I said

To the person who knows me best.

We sit and laugh and cry together

On the same wooden bench.

The leaves sparkle in the Sun,

Shouting to the bees.

Orange missiles through the water,

Against the tide with ease.

Never stopping, always changing,

Nature never rests.

It’s our cruel fate to search for peace,

A moment… now is best.
